Hawaii

Austin and I at the top of some Mountian in Kauai.
Our trip to Hawaii was shall we say memorable   It was our last trip with the Farm Bureau and a great one to end with.  We decided to make a trip of it, so we went a earlier   We went to the island of Kauai first and were there 4 days, and then made a short flight to Owyaho, and spent the remaining 3 days there.  We and many others from Idaho and other states came down with a food poising from a dinner that we attended on the USS Missouri   The dinner was a great experience, but being sick for the flight home was awful   Austin had it worse than I did on the plane, but I had it worse longer.  We had a lot of fun, with a lot of fun friends.
Austin getting his feet wet for first time on a beach in Kauai.

More sights in Kauai

I loved the ocean from clear up I couldn't tell the sky from the Ocean.
Taggert hitched a ride to Hawaii...he was a trooper.

A blow hole on the island of Kauai.

I loved this lighthouse with the ocean.

I really didn't want my picture taken, not feeling to hot.  This is on a beach in Kauai again.  Kauai was so laid back  and quiet, we would love to go back and just hang out there.

We decided to try fresh coconut milk, it is clear and not so good.

Austin of course had to get a picture of the farm ground.

This was the flag that was flying in the USS Missouri when there was a surrender of the World War II at sea.

There belongings went under the bed.

I made Austin and a friend Greg go lay down in the bunks so we could see how small they were.

Showers

More little bunks

I thought the boys would love to see that they played some chess, this was squeezed in to a little place on the ship.

Mail room.

Model of the USS Missouri which all of the pictures are of.
On deck, big gun.

Austin and I with the USS Missouri behind.

Pearl Harbor memorial

Active Navy battle ships in harbor.

Arizona

That is part of the sunk ship in the back.

More of the sunk ship under water.

plaque of names lost in Peal Harbor battle.

Austin with a view of the memorial.
The flag above it was cool.  The atmosphere on the memorial was incredible.  It was very reverent, and everyone spoke in whispers.

Where the surrender was signed on the USS Missouri.

Dinner on the deck of the USS Missouri.

Sunset on the beach behind our hotel in Honolulu.

Polynesian center.  This guy could climb that tree like no other.  We learned that he was  a prince from his island.  There weren't any other individuals with tattoos like this.  These were given to him as a infant and the fact that he survived was amazing.

Each island had a float with a dance and a song.

This guy from Samoa played this with his nose.

Going into our Lual at the Polynesian center.

Our Farm Bureau friends.  Back...Greg and Gwen Anderson, Jacob and Shantell Andersen, Duck and ? Mumford

The program before the dinner.

The roasted pig...it was good.

The last day before we flew out we went snorkeling.  It was ok, we were not feeling  so great, but we did it and saw some cool fish.

Wow...those Kauai pics made me miss it...and I would really like to see the PCC and Pearl Harbor. I can only imagine what Mom had to say...she probably knew all the places you had gone on Kauai..you should have asked here where you were. :)
