A Boys Dream...Trigger

Meet the newest addition to the Tubbs Ranch...Trigger.  This little guy is the best money Austin and I have ever spent.  The last couple of days have been like living in a movie with the little boy and his horse or a Billy and Blaze book.  They rush through school faster and better than ever, and are out the door saddling him up and riding, riding.  Rodeo's, Roy Rodger adventures, training adventures, ranching adventures and the list goes on.    Every topic at the dinner table, on the couch, outside everywhere is about Trigger.
The greatest moment for Austin and I was to watch Addler.  He took a big spill last year while holding onto Holdan, it was scary and has taken all year to get him past it all.  He climbed on this little guy and never looked back, running, swinging a rope, shooting guns, climbing on and off.  The cowboy we knew was in there surfaced and is riding like a true cowboy!!

Ruxton none too happy about getting kicked off after three hours of riding up on the hill to give someone else a turn.  He gets over it in a hurry and is happy for the next boy on the horse.  He was out there the next day after we brought him home working with him, round pinning him so he could get him caught.  First to catch him, saddle him, and first to climb on.  Trigger was real nervous in a new place but Ruxton of course was fearless.

They ride him hard...but take care of him hard too.  They ride him down to water, give him grain, hay and let him graze on moms green lawn.  Trigger might think his world has crashed in on him this week, but I know he can't help but love these cowboys, and I know they will never forget their adventures on Trigger for years to come.

It is a good feeling as a parent to be able to give something that your children really deserve.  These boys work hard on the ranch, and don't ask for much.  We brought him home as a surprise, and Ruxton had tears, Addler had a smile from ear to ear and bounced around everywhere for hours after, and Maestin had to play cool.  It brings joy to my soul to see them happy, and working towards the privilege to ride him.  I love these little cowboys more that I can express.
