Holdan and a bit of Ruxton

Holdan helped mom make sugar cookies for Halloween.  I asked if he wanted to try some of the cookie dough he said no...thinking it wouldn't taste too good.  I finally convinced him and he said, "Um this better than I thought."  Then I couldn't keep him out of it.

This boy loves books, I just love when they fall asleep in silly ways, but it melts my heart to seem the fall asleep with a book.
We moved Holdan down stairs with Maestin he thought he was ready.  But no quite after a few nights we had to get him something upstairs for a bit longer.

He loves to create and build this is he car of some sort that he came up with out of our gears toys.  He loves to spend time building.

Ruxton in his own went out picked the rest of the carrots and brought them in a washed them up for us all to enjoy.  He is a doer!

Working cows fall time

Addler waiting for a chance to work!
Catching grasshoppers to kill time.
My little cowboy-Holdan
We all love to go work in the canyon it is so pretty and peaceful.
The gang helping grandpa get ready to work calves.
We all look forward to going out to the canyon to work cows in the fall.  It is always a lot of work, but fun too.  It is so peaceful that the work seems to just be therapy.  We usually stay over night out there and it is always fun to spend a quiet evening with Grandpa.  Such a great life style, we are not rolling in money but we are happy!  We love to be together as a family.

Addler Baptism

Here is my boys just before going in for Addler's baptism.
Addler was pretty excited all year for his upcoming baptism.  He prepared and wanted to learn and read what he could about it.  It came all too soon for me.  I can't believe how fast he has gown up.  He acts like such a big boy.   I am very proud of his decision to be baptised, I wanted to make sure that it was his choice.  I had a thought leading up to his baptism, that Joseph Smith did not just convert to his mothers religion with out questioning.  Even though it was what his mother wanted and what she believed to be true he didn't just join because she was there.  So, I wanted Addler to question find out and know now that it was his decision.  So, I hope that he questioned and prayed as much as a eight year old could, so that someday if he is ever questioning he can fall back on this experience and remember that he knew it to be the right choice.

My boys are lucky to have such a great dad that is worthy to baptise and confirm them, and he does an amazing job of it too.

Lunch was after at our house, I took a quick picture of Addler's

yellowstone family vaction

We waited patently all summer for the day dad was not so busy so we could go camping.  October and the day finally came.  Here we are not quite to Yellowstone.  We spent the first night here in the tin cup area.  We saw a moose and the boys tried out the fishing.  We of course had the place to ourselves.  The drive up was beautiful, because of all the fall colors. I loved it.
Addler and Ruxton

Holdan, he loved camping
Here we all are at Old Faithful waiting for her to blow.
My crew Addler, Ruxton, Holdan, Maestin they had little animal check offs that they took very seriously, and we checked off a lot of animals.
Holdan thought he was so funny with his book marker in his back pocket, I think he is pretty darn cute.
And she begins her blow, the boys thought it was cool.

Ruxton, Addler, Maestin, Holdan, Mom. Dad
We did a lot of driving and getting out and checking things out.  We didn't miss a thing, even if it was a little rainy and cold.
Maesin and Addler being silly.
I think this is the "Yellowstone Grand Canyon"

We drove the entire park, here we are watching a black grizzle bear.  It was cool.  The elk were just coming out of the rut, and I wanted to hear them bugle pretty bad.  So at one stop we saw a heard of them and Austin told Ruxton to cry out like an elk.  Not seconds later we heard the Bull call.  It was so cool.  He even came out of the trees, rounded up his girls and went back up into the timber.  The boys thought they were awesome and all tried the call, Ruxton had the vote for the best call.  We did this three four times over the time we were there.  This was probably our favorite memory.
We missed wolves just in the background earlier that morning.  So, the next morning we were up early to go and check them out, they closed the roads because of snow!
Holdan just playing while we are waiting for the bear to come out again.
Yes, it snowed on us, we were lucky enough to see, fall and winter in Yellowstone and it was beautiful!  Of course this didn't slow the boys down.
I love that my boys like each other They are each others best friends.
Addler and Ruxton
Maestin and Holdan waiting for the trailer to warm up.  We drank a lot of hot coco, but we still had fun.
My boys that I love so much.  I love to go on vacation with just our family.  We have such a good time with each other.  I love the memories that we make as we go on our adventures.  And they are all game to do whatever, and everyone pitches in to help.  This was a fun trip and we are already planning our next trip for the coming year.

Addler B-day

Addler turned eight, and I can't believe it.  He has been so much fun to have around these short years.  Addler loves to be doing something all the time.  He loves to be outside in his dads world or in his world that he has created that is just like his dads but his.  He knows what is going on around the farm at all times and can be counted on to know how or what needs to be done.  That being said, he is such a great helper in the house for me as well.  He is really good with Holdan and is a great help there too.  He is very smart, and is reading and starting to enjoy it.  Being in the shadow of Maestin at times others do not see how smart and thoughtful he his, because he is quieter about it.  He always wants to being doing what is right and Ruxton keeps him on his toes making sure Ruxton is not doing something he shouldn't.  He has a strong testimony, and is close to the spirit, if we just take the time to be patient and listen to him it is amazing what is in his little head.  Addler is loads of fun and likes to be silly, but his brothers get a kick out of him.  Thank you Addler Glen for eight great years, and I can't wait to see what eight more bring!  We love you.

Addler had a friend over to play during the day with a hot dog roast, Addler's favorites, then we had his favorite meal that night with cake and ice cream.

Addler loves bugs of any kind so he was pretty excited to get a magnifying glass to check them out up close.
He loves his western shirts!
He was really into dinosaurs this year so he got a floor puzzle of dinosaurs.

So excited to get a new fishing pool!

Grandpa and Grandma Price gave Addler a saddle bag along with a roping bag.

And he wanted a fudge cake so Grandma Price of course got creative, he loved it.  Thanks Grandma
