It was Pinewood Derby time in the Tubbs Household once again. This means Dad gets to spend lots of time making the car. And all the boys get into it. Addler mad a car out of the other half of Maestin's cut car. Maestin did well but not as good as last year. Which we expected. He took third. However, the two boys that beat him were the two fastest cars in the district. So, we felt pretty good about his car. He won the sportsmanship award this year. And Grandma once again amazed us all by her paint job. Maestin found what he wanted and picked the colors and she went to work to create her master piece! Thank you once again grandma and Dad for all your hard work. Good job to Maestin as well, he was a good sport, and helped where he could. After the race the three boys his age from his ward had a pinewood derby party. They watched a funny movie I think Derby, and ate and had a good time.

Easter Weekend

For school I had the boys do some Easter Crafts, this was one of Holdan's he was so proud and did it by himself. He Loves search and find things, and this was just up his alley he had to search for the number and then color it the right color. And then he wrote his name he was so excited. And of course I have to take a picture.

The Malad Easter Egg Hunt is a must every year. I mentioned before hand that we had to brand in Strevell this day. At first we ere not sure if we were going to make it to it, and they were amazingly ok with that. But, we did and just barely. I went a little early to get some groceries to take out all day at Strevell. I was hurrying in the store and the store owner even helped me out to the car and put the bags in so I could make it. We got there and were running to our places, I knew Ruxton wasn't going to make it, So I told him to just go with Addler to his age group. We were not there a second too soon, but we made it for the hole minute that you look and it is over! Holdan, wasn't too sure and then remembered what it was all about and scored big. Ruxton did fine with the older kids. They were all happy, and they were off to a long day of hard work. Thus the reason they are all dressed like the are. Although they do dress this way a lot, I do make them clean up a bit more when we go to town.

Trip to visit Grandpa and Grandma Woodbury April 8

April 7th Shancy, Mom, and I decided a trip to Mackay would be fun. And it was. Us with six boys in toe, we headed up to see Grandpa and Grandma Woodbury. It wasn't warm outside by any means, but it was warm with love and stories and time spent reminiscing and just being together. Shancy helped Grandma get an MP3 recorder working to record Grandpas stories as well as some of Grandmas. My boys loved to just sit and listen to the stories. They love to go and play downstairs with the air hockey, ping pong and pool table. It warmed up enough the last day there to go out and rake their yard that the mice and voles had made a terrible home of. It was a lot of work and the boys worked hard.

Stories-I love to go there and just relax. The spirit of peace and love is so strong in their home. We brought dinner the first night and made it there. Then the boys talked their Grandma Price into making danish hotcakes for them the next morning. Good food is a requirement for a happy visit, and we are never let down. Shancy made the best brownies, yummy!

I asked Zane to smile so I could take a picture of his hat ring thing, this is what I got! What a goober! He is so much fun.

Ruxton had Grandpa Woodbury's trick game figured out before the first day was gone, he loved it. And none of his brothers took the time to figure it out! The top picture is the first of the trick...

And the result is that he got the chain to catch the ring! Good job Bud.

Thanks for a great weekend Grandma and Grandpa, it is always so fun to come and spend time there. Thanks you for such a wonderful home full of love and the spirit I hope that I can emulate that in my life! My children and I love you very much!

Kallen Kade Price comes to visit...the family swarms! April 1

Kallen Kade and of course his family made the trip to Malad, the last weekend in March or really the first weekend in April. We were all happy and excited to see the newest member of the Price family. So, the Price family swarmed like bees to Malad to see this little special spirit! We had a fun filled...day! I didn't get to see the baby until the next day, and I have to say I am not sad that my sisters left, because I got to have the baby to myself for as long as I wanted. :) While they were all around, it was so fun, to have everyone around having fun, and watching the cousins just enjoy the time together and a rare spring warm day!

Holdan after a really long day of playing was very tired and crying because he wanted to play with Gavin, and they all left him crying in the arena!

I know I didn't have my camera out for the whole family. My sisters love to shot and they tried out the pistol as well. You will have to refer to Dezi's blog for those pictures and more of that day. Thanks for a fun filled day family. I look forward to them very much!

Spring-Branding calves

Spring around the Tubbs place means baby calves, which means eventual branding. We did our first group of calves on 4-20-11. The first bunch we did was nice out and we got through them pretty fast. Maestin has grown up so much. This year he pushed all those calves in by himself. Addler and Ruxton helped get them turned around. And when there was a small one they made sure they had it. Austin and I ran the chute alone for a wile and then Dale showed up later to finished off the day. After the first group we gathered another group and moved them over to our place and branded them, it started to rain and we got a little wet. They all ride and are so much help. The boys didn't complain once. Yhey are hard workers. We probably branded a little over a hundred that day, they stayed right there and worked the whole time.

There has been plenty of good stories to tell with four boys-calves always make a good story. Addler probably has the best, the first one-he decided to push a calve in it weighed more than him, he had it pushed up ready to go in he said, "All the sudden I fell something really warm, he looked down and he was covered in calf crap. The calve was tall enough that is was clear up on his shirt. He thought it was great and tells everyone.

He got kicked real hard in Strevell the calve got him with both legs and planted Addler right down on the ground. I didn't hear a word about it until it was all over. And Ruxton said he got revenge on it for getting Addler!

Maestin was kicked plenty too, and Who knows what happened to Ruxton...he was in the middle of everything the entire time. I just find his legs and body bruised and know he took a beating as well. My favorite is watching him on his horse. All the sudden you look and Ruxton is taking off on his own somewhere after some cow or calf. At first both Maestin and I would be worried, but we just decided to tell ourselves, "It's just Ruxton!"

We branded another big group of calves two days later on the 22nd. We also ran all the cows through and worked them as well. Addler and his neighbor friend Ashton Parker had been making plans for weeks to brand calves. So Ashton came over to help, and had a good time. I have to brag some more about my boys... shocker I know! When Ashton's dad came over to drop him off, he was so impressed with our boys, he said they just were doing what they were supposed to be doing and we didn't have to tell them what to do. They were running cows up the chute then, and Austin and I were on the opposite side from them and can't see them, yet they just keep the cows coming! My boys are so great and willing.

The day before Easter we had to go out to Strevell and gather and brand our biggest group. Grandma Price had a picnic Easter egg hunt planned. We were going to try and make it, but we didn't . It took us all day to gather sort and brand out there. Those boys did not complain the entire day we branded over 200 calves that day. We brought two older boys with us to help, and they were tired by the end of the day. I was dog tired too. They kept the calves coming for those boys. They rode for three hours gathering and then helped sort them all. We didn't get home until 11:30 that night. They are hard workers, and I don't have to worry about them. Holdan has been in the middle of all of it too. We would not be able to do what we have done so far this year on the Ranch without them to help. I have loved having my family all together as we work. Numerous times this year we have all been out on a horse working for hours, and they are happy to to it. (If there is plenty of food and work!) Thank you boys for your sacrifice and willingness to work for us and our lifestyle, you are noticed and appreciated not only by me but your father as well!

Scouts entered our lives with me being called first as a councilor in the primary that was over scouts and then I was called as a webloes leader about three years ago. Regardless of what I will do (probably be in scouts for ever) our family will now be pretty heavily involved for the next 16 years straight. So this is one of many more pictures of advancements. It is a great program, and we all like it. Addler is chomping at the bit to start this fall and then Ruxton will not be far behind! So without further ado...

Maestin also received his Bear badge, he is pinning me! Maestin comes into Webloes in May and I am excited to have him in my group. He is growing up way too fast! I have to brag for just a minute, Maestin likes scouts and is really good to work on all his stuff and always wants to pass stuff off. One of his scouts leaders just loves Maestin. Her mother stopped me one time and told me how much her daughter loves and enjoys Maestin, under her breath she said and "she couldn't just say that about any of them". The scout leader herself has come up and told me how much she enjoys and just loves him. It is so good to hear things like that as a mother, because you just hope that they only show their bad colors while at home, and when they are around other people they actually think about and follow the teaching that we are trying to instill in them at home. Although Maestin doesn't show bad colors very often, I am pretty partial to him myself.

This is one of my scouts Parker Gunnel, he was receiving his Arrow of light award this night on his way to Boy scouts. I require them to recite either the Scout Oath or scout Promise from memory at pack meeting. He was very nervous and I knew he had it memorized, but the cub master for the other ward kept messing him up, so, I just gave her a dirty look and put my arm around him and did it with him. The Webloes are the ten year olds, and they are fun, I really enjoy them. Each boy has touched me in different ways, and I will never forget any of them. It has been a calling full of blessing and challenges, and I look forward to my many years doing it. "Once a den leader always and forever a den leader."

Bodies Exhibition

April 12th and 13th we went to Pocatello for the night. Austin had FB Board meeting so the boys and I went with him. The first day there we planed a trip up to Idaho Falls to their museum with Ginger and her kiddoes. They have the Bodies Exhibit there right now. We both thought it would be a neat thing to take our children to. We were not disappointed. We had a few reservations, but it turned to be a good idea. The kids were all so well behaved and willing to look and learn. I think that they all liked some part of it. Most of them liked the veins exhibit, it was so cool, or the room with the development of babies. The experience was very reverent for me, and I think the kids also. You couldn't help but know that there was a higher being at work in creating such master pieces. It was incredible to see all that there is to one human-being, and how intricate everything is. How can you not know there is a God after seeing something like that? Thus the reason why I have no pictures of the exhibit, I just didn't feel comfortable taking them. I would love to go back and take more time to see it all, with out some really little guys ready to move to the next exhibit.

That being said the favorite place in the entire museum was the kids room. They had Early Idaho theme, with costumes, tee-pees log cabin, caves, all sorts of fun. The kids played so well together they had a blast. Ginger has three girls and one boy. However, you would not have guessed, they all just had a ton of fun.

Maestin was Chief Tubbs, he got a little carried away with it though. Gingers' oldest is just a year older than Maestin and she was dressed, to look like a early women would at that time. He called her his squaw. She got a little fed up with it at the end. Later I talked to him about how he should treat women, that we really don't treat them like that. He said I tried to bring them animal skins for their food, but they didn't want it! The girls were good sports and they were having fun, but it gave me a great opportunity to talk to him about it. So, let her know that it will be better if the opportunity arises again to role play chief and squaw!

Holdan and Gingers' baby are the same age, they had a ton of fun!-well when they were happy with what they had and didn't want what the other did. :)

The gang-they are actually all cousins. Ginger is Austin's first cousin and my dear friend for years, so it is so fun to have relationships with them all. They came the next day to our hotel and swam for a couple of hours, they all had a blast. Those girls held their own with the boys! And I was pleased with how the boys treated them. I was really happy with how much they have in common. Great kids Josh and Ginger!
