Can you say Baseball!

I knew our summer was going to be busy before it started. We took on some new projects this year, which I will post later, however, I had no idea baseball would consume two months for us. So here is the beginning of our baseball.

This is the last game of Maestin's city league games. His team did really good they were tied for the 1st place going into the last game, and they lost by one I think. He was the Rockies coached by Rick and Ted Dressein. Maestin learned some very valuable life lessons in baseball this year, and it will be one none of us will forget. I am proud of the way he dealt with his struggles and kept going and never quit. He learned a lot about baseball, as well, and improved his game a ton. He was an awesome second baseman, and was the lead off hitter for the Rockies!

Addler and Ruxton were on the same team this year they were on the Braves Coached by Brand Ward! They would play on one field many nights the same time Maestin would be playing on the other field. They were good about letting Austin and I go go back and fourth. They play with a pitching machine. This was Ruxton's first year to hit with it, he was a little intimated with it but my little lefty got it figured out. Even when he struck out he was smiling he had the best time, mostly because he got to socialize! Addler was the big kid on the team this year so he got to play first base a bunch and was one of the biggest hitters on the team. He almost always connected with the ball! He took it serious and dressed the part and practiced hard. Next year he will move up a league so I will have three boys on three different teams! Yea for us!

This is what Holdan, Austin, and I did for two months-watch baseball. Holdan was such a trooper he hardly ever complained, Austin was a good boy too. He came to a lot of games and supported his boys so good, even though things were really busy on the farm! Thanks Dad!

Grandma's 80th Birthday Party/Reunion

On June 26, 2010 we headed to Arco for my Grandma Woodbury's 80th birthday party! She didn't officially turn 80 until July but we all celebrated . It was fun to see a lot of family. There were Baird family members there as well and it was fun to see them too. This is a picture of my grandma's sister in law Unas ( I think), Grandma, and my mom.

All the grand kids and great grand kids made a fabric square that connected into a wall hanging quilt thing.?? They gave it to Grandma.

It was nice to be able to just relax and visit with family I don't get to see often enough.

They had a little talent show and each family had to share. (always a talent show) Masetin recited a fourth of July poem he had memorized. He did great he never ceases to amaze me, it did not take him long to memorize it!

Birthday Boy

I can not go with out marking my babies second birthday! Yes, my "baby" is now two as of June 20th! Although he has acted two for some time! Holdan's birthday landed on Fathers day, so we invited Austin's family and my mom and dad to come out for dinner and cake. So Dale and Kathy came and Matt and Deneice and their kids came too. It was a fun afternoon and Holdan loved the attention.
So, a little about my little man Holdan. Like I said before, he acts way older than he is much to my dismay. He has grown up way too fast, I have to say that I have treasured every day with him, and have tried my hardest to keep him my baby. Three big brothers have not helped my cause. He just goes, does, and says what the boys do, go where the "boys" go, and say what the "boys" say. Not always so good! He loves his boys and they love him. Holdan can talk and say about anything in sentences, as a matter of fact the other day he was trying to tell his dad that "he wanted to go for a ride on the four wheeler" He stopped in the middle of the sentence and turned to me and says, "whats that word mom?" No joking, this kid doesn't miss anything. He has a ton of personality and can play a joke with the best of us. This is actually one of the favorite ages for Austin and I, we love to just watch and listen to him and marvel at his cuteness, and ability to learn. We say nearly every day why can't they just say like this for little bit longer. He sings the songs in nursery, plays baseball with the boys, ( really quite well), sings Elmo songs, loves to read his books, sleeps in a big boy bed with his big brother Ruxton in his room now, has had big boy underwear on once, and thought it was great, loves to swim and is fearless, loves to work with dad, and loves his five other two year old cousins, he can say all their names and they come up at odd times, he is very partial to his grandpa's he loves them a ton, he loves his grandma's too. I could go on forever I just wanted to put some things that I can remember about him at two. One thing that he hasn't grown out of is his sippy cup, he loves it and has to have each night in bed! He is still my baby sometimes, and if I ask him "Who's my baby?" He will happily raise his hand and say "Me!"

Happy Birthday Holdan! We love you and you have been such a joy to our lives. You are a happy boy and you bring smiles to our faces everyday!

Summer Catch Up....

I have a lot of catching up to do, so that I can have our summer record for life! It has been a busy one with a lot of projects to work on, games to play, places to be, family to spend time with, and work to be done with many other things as you will see with the rest of my entries.
!Tubbs Family Summer!

This is a picture of my boys in matching shirts, they are so cute. We went to a summer activity for the Young Farmers and Ranchers in June to a place in Raft River. It has two huge water slides, zip line, volleyball, and a lot of other fun activities with lots of food. We had a really fun time. Austin and I played like 15 games of volleyball and my old bones felt it the next day. We loved it.

I love when my sisters come for a visit. This one was Dezi and the three cuties. They came out to our house for one day and they "helped" me and Austin put down some rock in a flower garden, they all had to have a shovel and work it was fun. My favorite part of the weekend was to love on Dezi's little Illie. Too cute. It was fun spending time with Dezi, it always is.

My yard is one of many family projects every summer, each year I hope for way more than I get but each year is better than the year before. We are making progress, I love my yard even if it is a lot of work. It brings me lots a sanity on insane days!

Moment of Gratitude

I just wanted to take a minute out of our busy busy summer to post a day of gratitude for what I have. I was mowing the lawn a couple of nights ago and I was given the thought about how great my life really is. I was watching my boys play a fun game of baseball around me while I was mowing. It was so cute to see them all playing and having fun, even my little guy was running the bases. I was sitting there mowing thinking about how lucky I am when my hubby walks by and scares me with a tickle in the side. How lucky I am to have a husband that I love and I know he loves me and we are happy. We have been together for a long time, and he is still my best friend. We spend hours talking when we should just go to bed some nights. I was filled with gratitude as I was out working I love when I get that feeling, it is like the Lord is telling me, you're doing alright look at all you have and be happy. We are, we are a happy Tubbs family.

Dale decided to do some decorating in Bull Canyon. ;) He wanted to put up a jack fence, it looks good and I for one am glad he did it, and I have had people from the Arbon valley comment on it and how good it looks. With all that said it was a lot of work. We as a family went and helped a couple of times, cutting down logs and dragging them off the mountain, and helping to put up the fence. Dale and Austin have been working tirelessly on it since last fall. We all decided to go out earlier this summer, it was a fun day and I took some pictures, the fence was finished this day. I thought I should bring my camera and capture this moment so that my boys can say someday to their children and grandchildren that they helped put it up. We had a lot of fun!

Holdan wasn't out of the truck for five minuets when he fell in a little creek, it was cold that day and I stripped him down and put him in the truck, this is us getting ready to go up the house to start lunch and he is saying he is "cold!"

Maestin Basketball Camp

I have to say that it is a bit overwhelming trying to keep up with all that is going on this summer. But I am going to keep at it and maybe I will catch up when nothing is happening. When is that?

Maestin attended a basketball camp on June 15-17. This was a first for him and he really enjoyed it. I went and watched for a bit on the last day. They played five on five. He came home the second day and said mom do you know what shirts and skins are? Skins is when you take your shirt off! I think he thought it was cool, I had to just grin, he is growing up. Here are some pictures of him playing.

Maestin received most improved player. The other two boys are Hayden Degn and Cameron Livingston, they were the three in their age group to get awards. Maestin just missed winning the free throw contest. They tied and had to shoot until one missed.

This is a random picture, but Maestin and I had the opportunity to go the Scout Jamboral it was 100 years of Scouting. It was held at the Eastern Idaho state fair grounds in Blackfoot. There were hundreds of boys there, it was fun to be there as a scout leader and with my boy. He had a lot of fun too.
